Scripture verses, Thankful Thursday

Giving thanks each day

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

And each morning and evening they stood before the Lord to sing songs of thanks and praise to him.

1 Chronicles 23:30

I love that this verse in 1 Chronicles tells how the people intentionally thanked and praised God every morning and every evening. He blessed them with a new day and then saw them through it. They recognized those as the gifts they were and thanked Him for them.

Some days are easy, some days are as far from easy as it gets. But as Christ followers, we have the biggest reason of all to be thankful every day — even on the ones that feel heavy or horrible.

Jesus is our Savior and loves us more than we can imagine, no matter who we are (or aren’t). No matter where we are or what we do or how much we might have messed up along the way.

We are His and He is ours. That’s more than enough reason to be thankful, but I hope you have many, many other reasons to be thankful today.

What’s one way you’re thanking Him today? Leave a comment so we can encourage each other.

  1. Caring for His livestock, His pastures, and His loved persons He’s placed in my life.

  2. There are so many things I am thankful for, the many blessings of God and His mercy and salvation. I do thank Him for uniting us as writers and friends, for our group, and our mentors. Blessings, Leigh!

    1. Barbara, you are so right! We are blessed in more ways than we could ever count. What would we do without Jesus and each other? I’m so thankful for you and the others in our writing community. Blessings to you, my friend!
