Like every other person in the world, I fill lots of different roles — wife, mom, daughter, friend, church volunteer … business writer and editor by day, Christian writer by night. My mom taught me to read so early in life that I truly don’t remember even learning. It’s just always been part of who I am, just like writing. I write because I can’t not write. That may sound strange to a lot of folks, but rings true for me.
I started my Christian writing with devotionals and still enjoy putting those short lessons to paper when I have the chance. I’ve authored two devotional books with Extreme Diva Media that were so fun to write and market (visit my book page to learn more). I also contribute each year to Penned from the Heart and hope to someday find my work in Daily Guideposts.
My ultimate goal is to become a published novelist. Writing good fiction is a lot tougher than many people realize, so it’s a process that usually takes years — and even then, no author ever “arrives” and knows everything. I learn new things all the time and hope that all the work and late nights and oodles of words on pages pay off with a book on the store shelf one day. A girl’s gotta dream, right?
As C.S. Lewis said, “You’re never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
That’s what I hold to.
My goal is to write the stories that God plants in my heart and help share messages of encouragement and hope through my writing and speaking. My dream is that my words will always bring Him glory, whatever format they might take or whoever the audience might be.
