I’ve been a lover of words all my life, whether I was writing something myself or reading someone else’s work. I wrote and illustrated my first book when I was in elementary school — a story about a bear who lived in a refrigerator box (yes, my inspiration was a refrigerator box that my sister and I were playing in since our parents had just bought a new one). I gave the one-and-only copy to our mom.
My story lines have changed since then, but my love for playing with words hasn’t. Every job I’ve held has involved writing, editing, or both. Days are filled with writing for work, and nights or other snatches of time are for writing devotionals, blogs, and fiction.
